I am
Hafizur Rahman, PhD student at Chemical Engineering, department of Natural
Science at Mid Sweden University, Sundsvall. In March 2018, I completed
Licentiate degree in Chemical Engineering as an employee of SCA R & D
center in collaboration with FORIC, finance by the Swedish Knowledge Foundation
and Mid Sweden University. Today, I am also a double Master degree holder as a
Chemist. I was born and raised in Bangladesh but in winter 2006, I moved to
Sweden. I have a multidisciplinary academic background major in Chemistry/
Analytical Chemistry & Chemical Engineering and have more than 6 years of
job experience in different RD & I. I did my first Master exam work in
Chemistry department of Glasgow University, Scotland, UK, 2004. The second
Master's exam work was placed at the Chemistry department of Chalmers
University, 2009. In addition, two Master’s Degree along with completed
Licentiate degree, I built up my academic career with different advance courses
(physics, mathematics, statistics, IT etc.) in parallel of my research. It
helps me easily to collaborate in different projects work for identify new
product and process development.

However, recently I am involved on a project
of Micro X-ray. The main
responsibility is to create miniaturized and easy to use X-ray based measurement techniques that can analyze the concentration of
sulfur and sodium in cross section of wood chips, on individual chips and low grammage sheet. This is
order to test different impregnation techniques
for chemical pulps and chemi-thermomechanical pulps to improve process
efficiency. The technique should also be possible to utilize in pulps
mills to follow-up different wood assortments and help finding solutions to process problems. I
have also involved in a project on catalytic reaction where a new catalytic
lignin selective cooking method in which a large portion of the lignin can be
obtained as vanillin and the proportion of residual hemicelulose in the fiber
walls is high.
